Lille again.

As Nanny and Papi know from a rather frantic Facetime chat some time last week, I've been in Lille for the last week and a half, looking for a flat. It wasn't supposed to go that way. Originally, H and I had planned to spend the school holidays together...

Striking Teachers.

Before the school holidays, the French authorities started talking about their civil servants. Specifically the civil servants working overseas. As you already know, all French civil servants receive bonuses for working in the French overseas territories...

A European In Mayotte

In my opinion, healthy food is the best. I don't think junk food is better, because it's too fatty and unhealthy. Personally, I like healthy food because it's full of vitamins, it's more natural. I wouldn't say it's the cheapest or quickest but nevertheless,...

Salama Djema

Mayotte is made up of two main islands, Grande-Terre and Petite-Terre. Between the two islands, the only means of transport is the ferry, known as the barge. There's even a verb for it: barger. Barging costs 75 centimes for a pedestrian, 2€ for a 50cc...
