Adults in Mayotte don't really like the camera lens. There is a belief that being photographed removes a part of your soul, but it's usually closer to not liking white tourists taking photos of "locals" doing "local things". Which is fair enough and perfectly...

I've been teaching my students about food recently, as you saw in the recent blog post about the European classes. They love learning the English words for their local fruit and vegetables: cassava, breadfruit, chicken wings... they're shouting over each...
