The Gesture Festival

I'm a member of a community called Couchsurfing. The idea is to put up travellers and backpackers on your couch for a night or two, show them around a bit and make their stay more interesting than if they were in a hotel room on their own. It also works...

Here we go again...

This time, it all started with a football match. Majicavo and Kawéni, two neighbouring villages, were playing against each other. Majicavo was winning 3 - 0 when the referee gave a player a yellow card instead of the red card he should have given him....

This Little M'Zungu Went To Market... and she bought...

This is the outdoor market in Mamoudzou. Pretty much a permanent fixture, currently augmented reality thanks to the Ramadan market which has appended itself on top of the original. I'm quite pleased with these photos because photos of the market are hard...

Manta rays and Mangroves

Musical Boats

It's name is the M'zouazia. Its construction started in 2006, and it was put into water for the first time in November 2011. Built by a man called Nicolas Hilly and his family, the construction took place in the village of M'zouazia in the south of Mayotte....
