A Week In England
Apparently, when in Cornwall, one of the main things to visit is the Eden Project. So visit the Eden Project we did. It's the very interesting story of a clay pit which has been transformed into a living and growing area covered with various plants representing different parts of Cornwall. There are two "biomes", one housing Mediterranean plants and the other tropical vegetation at a constant temperature of 30°C and a humidity rate of 67%. Rather reminded me of somewhere, somehow.
While we were in Newquay, I also had the odd surfing lesson. Two of them, to be precise. I now know that it is much harder than it looks, that it is a good upper-body workout, that standing up on the board requires more balance than I apparently posses, that wetsuits take forever to put on, that salt water tastes the same the world over and that the water in the Channel is very cold.
Once back in Dorchester for a couple of days, Nanny asked me what I wanted to do. Of course, as always, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do. So we looked on the Internet for things to visit in Dorset and came up with Compton Acres. Picked up Mum en route and off we went. Again, it was very pretty. I especially enjoyed taking photos of Mum, Nanny and Papi in their blue outfits, they went very well together. Unfortunately, out of all the photos I took of them, there wasn't a single one where they were all looking at the camera at the same time.
